Ed has done a masterly job packing the van. It's amazing how somehow who can't fill a refrigerator can fill a van so well. (The refrigerator thing seems to be genetic; his mother couldn't do it either.) There's still stuff to go in, but we hope it will make it, although we may have to abandon more plants that we wanted. Kaye spent the day getting last minute bits packed up for the movers and packing the kitchen stuff that we'll take with us. Our mini refrigerator is crammed full, and the big fridge is wedged into its place in the van.
We've thrown out an amazing number of hangers (to go with the eight sacks of clothes that have been recycled), packing up packed what we hope is enough.
We've managed not to take a single picture of the packing, but maybe it's something we'd rather not remember. We'll try to do better in France.
Pizzas are on the way. The delivery guy just called, lost, but should be here soon.
Hi Kaye and Ed! Just received your email about this blog, and think it's a wonderful idea. Need to know more about if and when you're coming back to Holland - you talked about putting some stuff in storage.
ReplyDeleteIt's Sunday night here, Toronto time, so that means it's almost time for you to 'get up and get moving' ha ha ha (couldn't resist).
Keep the blog updated and drop me a line when you're in the house in the French countryside.
All is (relatively) well here ... new job started in June, moved into the new house in April so at least that stuff is looked after. Now I hope the personal stuff can get sorted sooner rather than later.
Take care, drive safely, and write soon,
