It's a sale!

Today we all agreed on the price, so now we're well on the way to being sold. The sale conditions are the normal ones, that the house passes its inspection and that the buyers can get financing. The buyers have already started the financing process, so it's possible that we may be able to close on September 30; otherwise it will probably be in the week of October 6. (Our real estate agent originally thought that the end of September would be too soon, since he assumed the buyers had down nothing about financing yet.)

We will meet for the first signing, like the compromis à vente in France, sometime next week. They will try to arrange to have the inspection done before that, so this won't be an issue. This will be the first time we get to meet the buyers, the Norwegian woman with one (or two perhaps) adult children.

What a relief for us! And now the whole "project" becomes more real. Tomorrow we will call for boxes, so we can start packing packing packing. How long will this take?

  1. How wonderful! That's such positive news and certainly takes a weight off as you prepare to head south.
