So, backing up a bit in time, here are some photos of The Move. Here's Ed on Monday afternoon doing last-minute vacuuming on the ground floor, which has been emptied, more or less, and ready for the movers. Doesn't it look spacious?
And here's the mezzanine with too many shelves in place. (Notice the shiny, newly finished floor.)
Monday night brought the storm that flooded living room. Tuesday morning brought the van. Here's Ed, who had walked up to the main road to meet the truck, walking towards our cour. (The driver's door is open on the right.)
Three hours later, the truck went away empty, and we had a full house. On the ground floor, you can see the piano backed up to the railing and our old upholstered rocker on the left. (And Ed's legs in the airlock on the left right.)
And this is how the mezzanine looked.
Looking at this now, it seems very tidy. Now the bookshelves are filling and the main L-shaped stack is dwindling, but there are separate stacks of boxes that will eventually go into the bedroom, stacks of boxes and bedding waiting for the new cabinet to be installed, stacks of boxes that we don't want to deal with yet, etc. So it looks a bit of a rommel.
