Kitchen demolition continues work continues, and most of the wall behind the sink is gone now. The counter and sinks move in and out from the wall, with some difficulty, on wheels. You'll see that the plumbing has been extended a bit to make this possible.
The cabinets that were either side of the windows are now mounted on the wall to the left of the stove, making the entry to the kitchen a bit tight.
On Saturday, we made our first trip to the dump as part of the demolition derby. We expect this will become a frequent visit in the coming months.
A kitchen guy has come to visit us to measure for this counter and sinks, stainless steel, all one piece. He'll also build an open cabinet to set it on. We expect the estimate next week. Hope it's not too breath-taking. Eventually we'll also get a proper counter for the peninsula and for the little cabinet just left of the stove.
We've started looking for new flooring, but the selection of what we want that's available in France seems to be rather limited. Thus we'll choose this before we decide on the peninsula countertop.
The cranes have largely gone one their way and spring is really popping now. These are the remains of some of the pots of tête-à-têtes that we brought from the Netherlands. We used to plant them in our yard or on the public path behind us, but started bringing them here after we bought this place.
The forecast is showing some freezing weather again in the coming week. Hope it's not bad enough to damage all the flowers and trees that have started growing.
