Well, it's warm news actually.

When Ed finished dismantling the wall behind the sink counter yesterday, he discovered that whoever had installed the window there neglected to seal the top edge. Daylight was visible through a 1-2mm gap! This was quickly remedied.

It was a cold night overnight with sub-zero temperatures. This morning the kitchen was no colder than the rest of the house. Hooray— the chilly kitchen problem may finally be solved!
