Last post we forgot to mention another problem from the rain rain rain and resulting soggy ground. In spite of the weather, work round the farms continues, of course. Heavy tractors moving down soggy dirt roads make ankle-twisting ruts in what were one fairly smooth surfaces. Snowed over, the ruts can be pretty dangerous. We're curious how these level out, if they do, in the next months.
Kitchen work is starting in earnest. Ed has freed up the sink and mounted it on wheels so that it can be moved (carefully) in and out from the wall.
The wall on the this side of the room will get insulation and new tiles (or maybe there will just be enough tiles leftover from our Amstelveen kitchen to cover. Then a new sink and counter, along with a dishwasher. And the peninsula, along with the little cabinet left of the stove, will finally get proper counters. And we'll put in a new floor. This is the one thing we're really sorry we didn't do before we moved in, since it will be so much more trouble to do now.
Cranes are continuing on their northward journey. Wave after wave are coming by this afternoon.
