Leaking toilet and voicemail

Friday we discovered water on the WC floor in the morning, and accused Lydia of peeing there. Falsely, it turns out, so we later apologized to her. (Not that she's ever apologized to us for peeing in Ed's toolbox and other inappropriate places!) Ed discovered that the toilet was leaking clean water from the tank, and gave it a going over to no avail. Today he's discovered that the tank has a crack in it that's been "fixed" at some point with silicon, but the silicon has come loose, so water is seeping through. This is supposedly a new toilet, added in January 2006 after Ed broke the original one while installing a new toilet seat. We are irritated to say the least.

Meanwhile Kaye finally found the way through the France Telecom site and clicked the right buttons to activate voicemail. That was Friday afternoon, but the actual implementation took place in the middle of the night. An interesting "feature" of the voicemail system is that the phone rings once when someone has left you a voicemail. And FT left us a nice voicemail welcoming us to the voicemail system. This means we both woke with a start at 2.30 and didn't get back to sleep for quite a while. We haven't yet managed to navigate the menu system to where we can add our own greeting message to the voicemail. If you want to leave a message, you'll just have to listen to the default French message and leave a message after le beep.
