Our continuing internet availability problem continued to be a problem. After repeated calls (where they insisted the fault was something in the house) and small jiggles, a technician was finally dispatched. He found no problems in the house, but fixed something outside. (As a result of this fix, our internet speed almost doubled. That didn't make it really fast, just slightly faster.) Now the problems are reduced, but still present. Sigh.
Ed's Montbron choir did its Remembrance Concert at the church on Tuesday evening (no pictures, sorry). The next day was Remembrance Day and we went to our mairie for the ceremony. Each year they lay flowers, read a speech from the government, and read aloud the names of people from the commune who died. This is very moving: there are often several from one family, in some cases three sons of one family, and many of their descendants are standing there with us.
After the ceremony we attended a convivial meal in a nearby commune.
We had company for Thanksgiving, but neglected to take any photos of the meal in progress. Here's the start.
And the end.
Early in November there was a brief coldish spell with light freezes at night. Then the weather got springlike and continued through the month. Grass is growing. Spring shrubs are blooming. It's all a bit crazy.
