Pogo really seems to enjoy the snow, bounding along chest-deep. We think his funny hair must keep him warm and dry. He especially loves looking in snowy holes for whatever it is that's in there. That's what he was doing here.
Here's a view from the farm road we were walking, looking back toward our house. It's still snowing, but just a bit.
As she does frequently, Sophie went walking along with us today. She's not as enthusiastic about the snow as Pogo, but she also enjoys hunting in the snow.

Monday brought some sunshine, with temperatures close to 0C, if not above. We came home from our morning walk to hear drip, drip, drip upstairs. Water was falling from the skylight frame. It looks like it's finding a way under the tiles, coming down a beam, then going along the skylight supports. Roof man will come later in the week, when he can get out. Sigh.
Map people might notice that we added a link to an 1842 map that includes our hameau. See the Links section on the right.
Hi Kaye and Ed - it's Canadian Karen writing :-) I keep hearing about all the snowing and blowing and snow and cold in Europe right now but over here in Toronto, it's a balmy 10 degrees with sun, and has been for a few weeks. We haven't had even ONE snowstorm this winter. VERY weird. I'm jealous! I bought new cross-country skiis after Christmas and haven't been able to use them yet. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteDavid and I are getting married in June, plus we moved into our new little house on the lake, just west of Toronto (in Port Credit) mid December. Love it love it.
Just wanted to say hi - keep writing! Love the text and photos. A little piece of heaven on earth which I can't wait to see. Hugs from here, Karen
