We had been looking forward to attending last Saturday another farci charentais dinner in St. Adjutory, like the one we enjoyed last year at the end of Feburary, but neither of us felt well enough to sit, eating, for hours and hours, so we stayed home. And that's been the way of the week.
We gave away the last bookcase that we used as kitchen pantry for a long time. It had been standing in the living room collecting "stuff" in the way that bookcases do. We got it empty, then advertised for a new home. There's no Freecycle here, but we managed to give it away. Losing the tall bookcase has really opened up the living/dining area of the ground floor. It almost looks like a living space now, although there's still a stack of packages for the remaining two kitchen cabinets that will go left of the stove.
We've had some lovely spring weather, nice for sitting out in the afternoon sun. But we've also had some spring rains and wind, so the paths are a bit on the muddy side. Camellias and narcissus are starting to bloom in the yard. Purple and white violets are blooming at the roadside and in scattered places in the yard. Birds are singing and Sophie has her eye on the nest boxes.
