It's funny how, now that we're selling this house, we're finally doing lots of stuff we've been talking about for ages. We've rearranged our bedroom, and gotten rid furniture, and replaced an ugly ceiling fixture, and hung pictures that hadn't found a new place after we painted the living room. Now the house doesn't match the photos on the Funda site. It will be a surprise for the visitors.
We spent the day cleaning top to bottom, to get ready for the first viewing tomorrow. We have to leave the house when the folks come. Kaye was thinking about arranging to have bread baking while they're here, or just before they arrive, so the house smells nice. But the lilies we bought earlier in the week have burst into odor, and will swamp anything else around.
Tomorrow we'll officially decide on one of the movers we've talked with. There's almost 10m3 difference in their two estimates, which is hard to understand. The lower amount is about 10m3 more than we brought to The Netherlands, which seems more accurate. The second estimate is 50% more than we brought, and we both find that hard to believe. Later in the week, we'll schedule a move-out date, when most of our stuff will go into storage until we've got the house in Condadeuil ready for it. Setting the move-out date seems even more of a commitment than putting the house on the market here. That's the time we'll really have to pack up and get gone! And so much to do before then!

Heh, I'm not ready for you to leave yet! I thought you'd still be around for a while. Ah well, I will have someone to visit in France (you'll probably be inundated with visitors).
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the house sale and move. I'll call soon. --- B.
