The Tardis is finished -- hooray. But now we have a plague of flies; possibly something has died above the bedroom ceiling.
This time we redecide the colors for the bathroom and decide (we hope) the colors for the kitchen and the bedroom.
Before Christmas, we visited a nearby foire de noel. There were lots of activities and lots of interesting foods available. We came away with some olives, cheese, and foie gras wrapped in dried magret de canard, rich but yummy.

And here's Kaye pausing during dinner preparations.
Notice that the door shutters are closed against the cold. And the old cabinets either side of the door are gone. We'll replace these with open shelving; the small water heater, that provides hot water for the kitchen and the Tardis above, will eventually be hidden by cabinets around the sink window.
Hennie and Jeff and Betty-the-dog stayed for two nights at New Years. We ate lots of oysters and confit de canard and other yummy things, staying up late playing Fluxx.
We went for a walk behind us, down over the Bellonne and back up to Ecossas, and discovered that the woods across the Bellonne have been clear-cut, leaving a muddy mess where we picked up some bulbs.
On New Year's Day it was warm enough to sit outside for tea in the afternoon:
although we had to chase the sun a bit. The hydrangeas behind us need to have their dead flowers removed.
