On new year's day we went again, with a bigger group this year, to a local restaurant for a lovely, big meal. Many courses, but with portions small enough that you can enjoy it all. Till they got to the profiteroles, which were delicious, but almost too much after such a feast.
Further we've been staying home as much as possible, just keeping things going. We did go to Limoges for a movie one evening, and on the way saw a spectacular full moon, huge and orange, rising over St. Junien. Who takes a camera with them when they go to the movies?
Yesterday we attended the annual Mazerolles commune meeting. The big news this year was the plan for a renewal and extension to the salle polyvalente, the multi-use hall where events are held. It costs a lot of money and caused a lot of discussion, most of which we didn't understand.
After several weeks of rain, we're now have more typical winter weather, with light freezes at night and cold days above 0C. There has been some pretty spectacular fog days also. We should have another day or two of winter before the rains return.
