Another short trip

Friday evening we went a music quiz, making a team with an English neighbor down the road. We found one team of five and another couple. We combined forces with them, making two teams of five, and came in a resounding last. Ah well, a good time was had by all.

On Sunday we went north to attend a concert by Nicholas Angelich, an American pianist Ed noticed on the radio, as part of the Chopin Festival in Nohant, at George Sand's home. One of the outbuildings had been converted to allow concerts to be held on the site. The concert was good (Bach, Chopin, and Schuman) and the seats were fairly comfortable, but the ventilation was non-existent and the acoustics were a bit lacking.

The camera got further this time — left it in the hotel room this time. But we did get some photos in a park near our hotel. When Pogo first saw these sheep, he charged them as if they were large dogs. He's done this with other similar statues. We wonder if all dogs this dopey?

And here's Kaye and Pogo squinting into the sun.

We passed this square several times during our stay in La Châtre. Look closely. The only real window is the one over the door on the far left.

When we go east towards Limoges, we often go through St. Junien. This statue on one of the roundabouts always makes us smile.

Its sweater weather again. We're wondering if summer has come and gone already. It started raining on Sunday and has only stopped briefly in the last days. We haven't lit a fire, but we've certainly thought about it.
