All the news that's fit to print

Last Wednesday we attended another quiz dinner at nearby Chez Cisseen. And won! Of course there were only three teams competing, but we wiped them out! The problem with this is that we now have to set the questions for the next quiz. Any suggestions?

The repairman finally came to look at the stove. It will be the end of next week, perhaps, when the part for the oven arrives. Lucky that this is a two-oven stove!

We ran across this article about an obscure French law. Now, every place has strange laws (e.g., you mayn't shoot a buffalo from the second story of a hotel in Texas), but this one seems especially odd. Women dressing in trousers must have been a big problem in 1799 to warrant a special law prohibiting this.

There may indeed be progress on Ed's Carte Vitale. A new attestation, looking the same as the old one except for the date, has arrived as promised. With luck in a few more weeks, the application for his Carte Vitale will appear also. Fingers crossed!
