At the left of this photo you can just see the see chimney of the fireplace. Then there's our old pot pole and the fridge. The cabinets are the same IKEA "pattern" that we had in Amstelveen. The glass doors are reflecting the light over the kitchen table. Ed assembled the (temporary) counter from the sides of a retired wardrobe.
Around the corner from these cabinets is three ranks of open shelves (IKEA's Ivar). This is a bit of a mess right now, with things stashed just to get them out of the boxes. The door into the body of the house is to the right of these.
Ed improvised the handles from short dowels or plugs for screws and wrapping tape. Aren't they lovely? Ok, functional then.
On request, here's another view, looking from the door to body of the house back into the kitchen. The outside door is at the left edge of the photo. The cabinet at the end of the L-counter is temporary, until its contents find a new home. The two cans of beans are waiting to be added to a pot of soup when company arrives later this evening.
Wow, the kitchen is looking GREAT!
