We finally got the information from our mortgage company. If all goes well, sometime this week we will send them a check to pay off the balance on this house. Then, drafty and cold, it's our very own!
Ed's been painting in the kitchen and his doubts are gone about the color we've chosen. We think it looks very nice, indeed.
This afternoon Lydia went for her first visit to a French vet. She was not very enthralled with the idea. It turned out to be a multi-lingual experience, since the vet is actually Belgian! This was handy since the records that we brought from Amstelveen are in Dutch. We spoke a mixture of Dutch, French, and English! All the medications are different here, though, so we'll be moving to different ones as we run out of the old. They don't have a good scale for lightweight animals there, so still don't know how much weight she's lost moving here. Our kitchen scale only goes to about a kilo and our bathroom scale isn't precise enough. So this remains a mystery. But, she seems it good spirits (for her) so we assume it's going OK.
We've had some gorgeous weather in the last days, sunny, if cool. The last two days we went out to see the ISS fly over in the early evening. Of course, this not really a French experience, but it was quite fun anyhow.
